We really enjoyed touring Golden Pavilion and Nijo Castle. Our guide Hiro was informative and kind. What stamina! He knew the history and really he was the perfect guide. As an experienced traveler, if you want a soft-spoken, gentle, highly intelligent, knowledgeable and patient guide, this is the tour. His English was quite good. There is a significant amount of walking on this tour. Hiro met us at our hotel. His shepherding us from the hotel to the site was very kind. On other tours we struggled a bit to find our designated meeting spots. We then taxi’d with him (at our expense) to the entrance where the tour began. Just a superb tour.
