Visit Morning Meiji Jingu Shrine and Tsukiji Ginza and Asakusa

Tour feature and details

Meiji-Jingu Shrine is the most popular shrine in Japan for “Hatsu-mode” (First Visit to a shrine or temple for the New Year) with over 3 million people just in 3 days. What are attractions of Meiji Jingu? You'll learn them in this tour at first.

After getting fresh morning mysterious power from the woods, we go through Omotesando and head to the Tsukiji Outer Market. For tough walkers, you can enjoy various modern architectures in the Omotesando avenue, but it normally becomes short walk. Getting on the Metro, you will fist visit Tsukiji Honganji Temple, the important cultural asset. Then, you'll enjoy Tsukiji Outer Market, closely related with the temple, where you find various kinds of Japanese foods and kitchen items.

From Tsukiji, we then walk to Ginza. In the middle of the way, you'll see a traditional construction in front with a high-rise modern building. That's the Kabukiza Theater. Although you can not enter the theater inside itself, the guide will take you to special places in the Kabukiza Tower, where not so many guests visit.

It's up to each guest if walking to Ginza or using the Metro, but you'll listen to the advice what to see in Ginza. There's a Traditional calligraphy shop, a first cultured pearl manufacture shop, a bonsai shop, so on.

Asakusa should be visited at least once by foreign visitors. It has all-time attractions even for Japanese. Nakamise Street is amazing. It looks like a festival held through all the year. There's both a temple and a shrine; i.e. Senso-ji Temple and Asakusa Shrine. You can enjoy by yourself with through explanation about this area at the top floor of the Asakusa Tourist Information.

Yuuko (Anji) was a fantastic guide who went above and beyond to make it a great tour, suitable for adults and kids alike. It was a fantastic introduction to the city and she put together a wonderful annotated picture library for us as a souvenir. There was a lot of walking but rest breaks made it well paced unlike other private tours - highly recommended!

there were four of us on a private tour. Our guide was very knowledgeable and accommodating. We walked and took the subway, which was fun in itself. Yuuko took pictures of us at all of our stops and then sent us the pictures along with the personal detail of our tour. We only had a short time in Toyko and we hit a good number of the spots to give us a great taste of the city. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our walking tour very much and Yukko was a great guide and took us to many parts of Tokyo we would have not found. Her knowledge of the history/culture she shared was excellent. Only negative was that it was very fast paced as there was so much to see - maybe better as a full day tour
