Thiis is the tour mainly for the people who have already seen the great Buddha statue in Kamakura and still looking for something more. (If you yet need to see the Buddha statue, of course let's go there and I love to do it for you . In this case we need to alter some of the itinerary. )
I'm very flexible.
Kita-Kamakura (Norh-Kamakura) is located just 3 km north from Kamakura-station. This area is famous for the wonderful Buddhist temples but also for the peaceful verdant atmosphere . This is a perfect place for stroll around and forget about the daily bustle and hustle of city-life
(1) Enkakuji Temple : One of the most important Zen temple. It situates right in front of Kita Kamakura JR station. This is the perfect place to start this tour.
(2) Meigetsuin Temple : Famous as the temple of Hydrangeas. It is also famous for its window of enlightenment, the round window.
(3) Jochiji temple : This is not listed among the top in the guide book, but this is truly the most peaceful and spiritual temple. The temple I recommend at first.
(4) Kenchoji-Temple : This is the old rustic but also majestic Zen-temple which was graded number one during the early feudal era.
(5) Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine:The huge shrine dedicate to Emperor Ojin and other important deities who were considered as the guardian of the Kamakura regime.
This is the place where the samurai era started 800 years ago.
(6) Komachi-dori street:
On the way to Kamakura JR station, we will pass the famous bustling shopping street Komachi-dori.
You might want to make a stop and try some foods and shopping.
This could be one of the options.
