【Outline of Tokyo Tower】

Tokyo Tower is the first telecommunications hub tower built in 1958 with the height of 333m and one of the most popular tourist attractions since its opening. There is an observation platform at 150 meters and a special observation platform at 250 meters. Even though the higher tower, Tokyo Skytree was built in 2012, Tokyo Tower is still a home tower of Japanese and Tokyo people.

Zojoji Temple, standing next to Tokyo Tower would be also one of tourists’ attractions. It is the chief temple of the Jodo-Buddhist section. After Ieyasu Tokugawa, the first Shogun of the Tokugawa Samurai Government, started to rule the Kanto (east Japan) region including Edo, he accorded cordial protection to Zojoji as the family temple of the Tokugawa family. Therefore, located in its precincts are the tombs of six Tokugawa Shoguns, Imperial Princess Kazunomiya (wife of 14th Shogun Iemochi), and wives and children of shoguns.

Near Tokyo Tower, Atago Shrine is also there, which has the 86 steeping stone steps to the top of the hill on which the main building of the shrine is built. It is said “Stone Steps to Success”
